In the Groove

Our new schedule isn't as rough as I thought it would be, atleast not yet...The kids are doing great and funny things continue to happen...

Emree's gossip column is back in circulation...She's gets in the car and immediately tells me about who was in trouble, what people ate, wore, said...she's so funny! She thinks she's the teacher's pet because when the class is "chit-chatting" (this must be something her teacher says a lot because Emree says it all the time now) Ms. Horn will say, "I see Emree sitting nicely and paying attention.".....
Emree and Rett surprised me with this the other day. Rett buried Emree...they were so proud...

Rett is LOVING school!...His teacher puts him in the car everyday and she said that they were eating snack and Rett asked "Why don't we say a prayer before we eat?" His teacher is this sweet Christian lady and it melted her heart when Rett said this and she told him that he could say his own prayer if he would like....awww...he really is such a sweet boy!...it was a proud moment for a mom... This was his first paper he brought home...Evan what do you think? Is he a future artist?...

Rye loves being home with Mom...His latest is when I take a shower I squeeze the bubbles from my hair and put them on the shower wall and he runs his trains back and forth...He loves it!...

Bittersweet...

Let's shed some tears for Summer...

But let's ring in the new school year!! Woohoo! Let's hear it for learning!...
Monday Emree started second grade...

Emree sporting her new school uniform...

Tuesday tropical storm Faye came through and they cancelled school...someone was a little too excited for this...

Wednesday Rett started pre-K!! He thought he was such a big boy!...

Rett high tailed it to the tiger that he had seen during open house and couldn't stop talking about...

Lizzie waiting for Rett...

Not one tear was shed, because pre-K is only three hours, but I still considered it a great accomplishment! Rye and I went to breakfast to celebrate our alone time...

Picked Rett up and he was so proud! He asked if he could do it again, awww...so cute..."Yes, Rett for the next 13years and beyond..."

Hiss-terics over the Serpentarium!

Last week was our final week of Summer...boohoo! So I wanted to do some especially fun things, we went to the movies one day and Disney another, but the highlight of the week was the serpentarium...We have passed this place probably hundreds of times in the over eight years we have lived here. It is literally 4 minutes away and now after going there I wish, for our safety, that it was a little further away..

Lizzie and Rett are best of friends they used to loathe each other, but have made a turn for love, which is great! They will be in the same pre-K class starting on Wednesday...

They do venom shows everyday at noon and three...First they bring out some for everyone to hold...He said these were not deadly, but it would bleed and hurt if they bit...

It used to not be behind glass, but then someone was bit...that must have been an exciting day! They milked between 6-8 snakes, all deadly snakes! What was frightening was how many snakes they had...hundreds!! and most were very scary ones...mambas, cobras, rattles,cottonmouths....

kind of like milking a cow...right?...although when you milk a cow I'm sure you don't have to worry about losing a finger!!! His pointer on his right hand is a little nub!...

This big guy was a little alarming...I was standing with nothing but a dinky chain link fence and two and a half feet separating me from this 10ft gator... there must be some sort of law prohibiting this...

"Crikey, look at this croc she's a beauty!" Rett loved the crocs...

You can feed lots of turtles in the turtle habitat (more like a pool with a hose for a fountain)...

It is a great find and we will be sure to go back...And now everyone who visits is going to have to go to the serpentarium! Hooray! Good times!
